When you click on Donors on the left-hand menu, a panel will appear like this. (This is after adding a couple of donors and a few donations.) We refer to this as the Donors View.
The “gear” icon at the top right takes you to Donor Settings.
You can use the controls across the top, by clicking on them, to:
When you use the Search field, matches to your entered text are highlighted in most fields, except for the Tags and Categories columns. Matches may be “approximate”, matching only some of the characters you entered.
You can also use the Views pull-down, after making any of those changes, to:
What gets saved with a view is everything across the top except for any text Search. So that is the date range, columns, filters, and sort.
In addition, even if you don’t explicitly save a view, whatever changes you make (except the Search) will be persisted throughout your use of the app, until you change them again.
In the donors displayed in the screenshot above, you will see a Name “John Smith #1”. That means that John Smith has envelope number 1. Envelope numbers will be further explained below. Since they are displayed, you can also search on them in the Search field.
To add a donor, click New Donor.
To edit a donor (once you have added some!) just click on its row in the display.
