When you are entering data in the program, you can use Tab to move between fields, and in most cases you can use Enter to select the default (blue) button on a data entry form.
In fields for entering individual dates, you can manually type the date in the format you specified in the Preferences tab of the Organization left-hand menu option. As you type, you don’t have to type slash or dash separators - the focus automatically moves from one section of the date to the next one. You can also move between those sections with left and right arrow keys. Or you can click on the calendar icon at the right of the field to pop up a calendar that you can choose the date in.
In fields for entering a range of dates, such as on the Donors View that starts out showing “All Time”, when you click on that text, or the text of a date range you have previously set, a pop-up dialog appears as follows:
You can either enter the From and To dates (the starting and ending dates of your desired date range) directly as explained above, or use one of the buttons at the right to pick a specific date range. Click anywhere outside of this dialog to make it disappear.
When you are entering amounts that are even numbers of dollars, there is no need to enter “.00”.
In fields with a drop-down arrow at the right, you can type any part of a value that is in the drop-down list (whether you have dropped it down already or not!) and it will show all matches that include what you have typed (ignoring differences in capitalization). You can then click on the desired match to select it, or use the down arrow key to move to that desired match, then press Enter to select it.
Any popup dialog area can be closed without saving by clicking the “x” at the top right. You may be asked to confirm that you want to leave without saving your work in that dialog.
